1978 Weston : Superman: The Movie Trading Cards
In 1978, Weston Bakeries Ltd. released a nine-card series featuring promotional
images from Superman: The Movie. There was one card inserted in
specially marked boxes of snacks sold throughout Canada. The cards are 2.5 x

contain any branding that identifies Weston. The text on each card is printed
in English and French.
Superman appears on three cards in the Weston series. Card #2 depicts an image of Christopher Reeve in New York City. The same photo appears on a card issued by Topps Chewing Gum and O-Pee-Chee.
Superman: The Movie starring Christopher Reeve was directed by Richard Donner. The film was released in theaters on December 15, 1978. Identical promotional images from the film were used in trading cards set issued by Drake's Cakes, Topps Chewing Gum, and
Monty Gum. Superman: The Movie was promoted in Italy by
Danone and in
Spain by
