1995 SkyBox : DC Villains: The Dark Judgment

DC Villains: The Dark Judgment was released by SkyBox International in August 1995. The hobby-only series is the first trading card set headlined by DC Comics villains. The cards feature original painted artwork created exclusively for SkyBox. The card text was written by Roger Stern.

Cards are sold in boxes of 36 packs, each containing 7 cards. Packs originally retailed for $1.79. A complete set is comprised of 90 base cards, 3 insert sets, and a SkyMotion hologram. "Gathering of Evil" Spectra inserts are nine foil-etched cards found in approximately 1:7 packs. The odds of finding a "Villains Attack" insert card are 1:30 packs.

Superman and Doomsday appear in "The Death of Superman" by Joe Jusko.

Two-Face is featured on a SkyMotion lenticular card that was available through a mail redemption. The thick lenticular card was distributed inside of a printed cardboard sleeve. SkyMotion promos were also given away by SkyBox at various events. The odds of finding a SkyMotion Redemption Card are 1:180 packs. The redemption program expired on February 28, 1996.

Doomsday is showcased on three total cards in this series. Other Superman villains that appear include Bizarro, Brainiac, Cyborg Superman, Darkseid, Lex Luthor, Metallo, and Mongul.

A 7x10 inch promo sheet containing 6 uncut cards was distributed to dealers.

In 2015, DC Universe villains were featured in the DC Comics Super Villains Trading Cards set from Cryptozoic Entertainment.
