1977 Figuritas Cine Acción : King Kong

The Figuritas Cine Acción collector album was released in 1977 and distributed in the Argentine Republic. The album showcases scenes from the 1976 film King Kong starring Jeff Bridges, Charles Grodin, and Jessica Lange. The photo cards are copyrighted "1976 by Dino De Laurentiis Corporation".

The designs and photographs are identical to the King Kong trading card set issued by Topps Chewing Gum in 1976. The numbering format is different for the Argentina release. The base set contains 60 photo cards from the film and a 32-piece King Kong sticker puzzle.

The insert sets are small round discs similar to pieces used in the Hawaiian milk cap cover game, commonly known as POGs. There are two die-cut round discs on each insert card. Each disc is approximately 3.5 cm, or 1.4 inches in diameter.

"Héroes de la Aventura" feature characters from DC Comics including Superman, Supergirl, and a rare appearance of Spectre (Espectro), created by Jerry Siegel. Superman appears on disc #79.

The "Clubes de Fútbol" subset consists of 16 discs showcasing the logos of popular football clubs in Argentina. "Emblemas Aeros" is a 17-piece set of logos for various airline companies that have served Argentina. The album checklist also labels the subset as "Héroes de la Aviación."

A similar King Kong album and disc collection was previously released in Argentina in 1964. The 1964 King Kong series includes animals, flags of the world, and automobile brands. In 1964, Muñeca Zule released an album of discs that feature Superman, Batman, and Robin.

Collector album sticker-cards are often referred to as cromos or figuritas in Spanish. The collectibles are called vignettes in French, figurines or panini in Italian, and figurinhas in Portuguese. Many sticker album collections released in the 20th century required paste or glue.
