1983 Nabisco Shreddies : Superman III Action Replay Game

Shreddies and Superman. Squaring up to adventure.

Superman III Action Replay Game cards were released by Nabisco in 1983. One-of-six cards were distributed inside specially marked boxes of Nabisco Shreddies breakfast cereal in the UK. The cards were devised and produced by P&P Promotions in Leicester.

The front of each card has a laminated coating. Players are instructed to write on the surface with a felt-tipped pen and then wipe clean with a damp cloth. The activities are loosely based on scenes from the 1983 film starring Christopher Reeve and Richard Pryor. The card artwork is derived from illustrations in the 1982 DC Comics Style Guide by José Luis García-López and Dick Giordano.

Nabisco Shreddies previously distributed a series of Superman II Action Transfers in 1982. Topps Chewing Gum issued a card and sticker series for Superman III in 1983. Promotional images from Superman III appear in a series of stickers released by Ziploc. Parker Brothers produced two different card games featuring scenes from Superman III illustrated by Neal Adams.
