1971 Mattel : Superman Secret Picture Game
The Superman Secret Picture Game was released by Mattel as part of the 1971
Comic Game series. The card game set features original artwork penciled by Jack Kirby and inked by Mike Royer.
Murphy Anderson redrew the Superman faces on the cards and blister packaging.
Kirby illustrated five different puzzle images, but only four were used in
production. The original unaltered artworks are held in private collections.
The cards are bridge-sized and measure 2.25 x 3.5 inches (57 x 89 mm). A
plastic Comic Game carry case was included with each deck.
Jack Kirby also provided artwork for The Lone Ranger Wild Roundup Game and
Tarzan Jungle Game released by Mattel. The Comic Game series included sets for
Archie, The Harlem Globetrotters, and Scooby Doo.
The checklist consists of 36 puzzle cards, four key cards and one rule card.
