2018 Topps 80th Anniversary #16 - 1966 Superman Wrapper Art

In 2018, Topps celebrated 80 years in the trading card industry by reprinting wrapper artwork of past releases. The Topps 80th Anniversary Wrapper Art cards are printed on 16-point vintage cardstock. Three different cards were available on the Topps website for one week and each card was printed to order. Single cards were originally priced at $7.99 each, or $14.99 for the weekly three-card set. There were 109 different cards released over a period of 38 weeks.

Card #16 reprints later versions of wrapper art from the 1966 Topps Superman Cards series. The Superman card received a print run of 343 copies. The 1966 set showcased scenes from The Adventures of Superman television series that originally aired from 1952 to 1958. The pack artwork is based on a photo of George Reeves that appeared on card #9, "Metropolis' Hero".

The wrapper artworks were also reprinted on limited 10 x 14 inch poster cards that sold for $19.99 each on the Topps website. Gold Edition posters numbered 1/1 originally sold for $99.99. The total print run data for the posters is currently unlisted.
